Tara Boyd, M.A., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist
Founder & Head of School
Tara Boyd is the Founder and Head of School at Copper Sky Academy, where she is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational and therapeutic environment for children with language & learning differences. With 28 years of experience working with neurodiverse children and being a mother of a child with dyslexia, Tara brings a unique perspective to her role. She has held a Certificate of Clinical Competence as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) since 2001, which further enhances her expertise. Her extensive background in education and clinical services allows her to focus on personalized approaches that empower each student to reach their full potential. Passionate about collaboration, she works closely with families and team members to create tailored strategies that enhance student success. Through compassionate leadership, Tara strives to make a lasting impact on the lives of students and their families.

Jessica Wright, B.A.
Elementary Teacher

Jessica holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and is a proud mother of two young children. With seven years of teaching experience, she has previously worked with kindergarten through 4th-grade students in the Chandler Unified School District, where she discovered her passion for supporting children with learning differences. Jessica applies Differentiated Instruction (DI) across all subject areas to personalize each child's educational experience and achieve the best outcomes. Jessica also focuses on the science of reading and Structured Literacy to help struggling readers build confidence in both one-on-one and small-group settings. She joined the Copper Sky Academy family in the spring of 2024 and has quickly become a valued asset, known for her dedication, creativity, and compassion.


Melissa Weaver, M.S., C-SLPA
Teacher & Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
Meet our newest member to Copper Sky Academy, Missy Weaver. With a deep love for learning and a heart for helping students grow, Missy brings over 20 years of experience in both public and private school settings. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Speech and Communication Disorders from Northern Arizona University, as well as a Master's in Psychology from Grand Canyon University. Missy is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant and certified through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Missy is committed to fostering meaningful connections with students and believes that building positive relationships is the key to unlocking each child's potential.

Learning Coach & Physical Fitness Instructor
Meet Mr. Tyler, our dedicated Learning Coach and Physical Fitness Instructor! With experience as a Lead Child Development Specialist at the Boys & Girls Club and a Registered Behavior Technician for autistic children, he brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to our program. His background in sports makes him a fantastic addition to our active group of students. Known for his patience, kindness, and fun personality, we feel incredibly fortunate to have Tyler on our team!
